What do people have against electronic music? I’m all for playing real instruments but just cuz you choose to make you music by use of the computer softwares doesn’t mean there can’t be talent in it, people are pretty close minded in the metal community…
Maybe we’re so “closed minded” because everyone labeled us as Satanist church-burning morons, and we learned to judge others [which we don’t do, and isn’t the point of this photoset] from you. So I dub thee Unforgiven.

According to this definition a laptop can indeed be considered a musical instrument. Remember that (or read about) new revolutionary instruments in history weren’t socially accepted as such when they were invented, it happened with the piano, were it was shunned for years because it was an “abomination” and what not. The same happened with the electric guitar, and possibly with all electrical instruments. HOWEVER!!! Compare the pioneering pieces that were composed using these instruments, with those songs being made nowadays with a laptop, and then you begin to see the problem. In my personal opinion, I consider the laptop a synthesizer more than a musical instrument, because a laptop has no tuning, pitch, timbre, tonality, etc. of its own, it just borrows any and every sound from every other musical instrument there is, the only thing that can be done with the laptop is the sound manipulation thingy you do with the so called “electronic music”.
